W/E 21.10.23 - Ali & Christine's 1st place finishes & Duxford Dash

Next up on our weekly review is our runners in the mid-distance races over the weekend and we start in the midlands as the South-West correspondent, Christine Williams, has made her way to Leicestershire for the RunThrough Midlands event from Prestwold Hall at the Leicestershire Running Festival 2023. Christine took on the 10k event and finished in a time of 55:14, another PB and winning the V70 category at the same time- Well done Christine.
Slightly closer to home, at the Thurlow 5/10mile race in West Suffolk, Alison Armstrong took part in the 10 mile event amongst a strong field – the single loop course including multi-terrain sounded quiet gruelling – however Ali continued on with her great form and smashed out another PB. She returned home in a time of 66:27 to finish 6th overall and 1st female – Well done Ali! In the same sort of area albeit over the Cambridgeshire / Suffolk boarder, Craig Skipper took part in the Duxford Dash at the Imperial War Museum – the two lap out and back 10k was hard going in parts but thankfully the sun shone and Craig flew around in a time of 44:12. Also on the day, the Heaney family took on the family mile with Daddy Heaney leaving them all in his dust….. I lie…. Ezra beat me over the line…… again! #TeamWAC
