W/E 19.10.24 - Marathons Galore (Hartford, Amsterdam & Abingdon)

Next up on our weekly  review we focus on our marathon runners;

**Eversource Hartford Marathon**

For the second week running we report from over in the 🇺🇸states🇺🇸 – not quite the major marathon from Chicago, however on Saturday we had Jon Shoots representing WAC and snaffling a major result – a brilliant personal best🎖️ over the distance! Jon completed the marathon in a time of 3hrs 42min 8sec to travel home from the mid-west with a 🚨big shiny PB🚨- Well done Jon! 🙌🏻

Still on the marathon trail we fly over to Euorpe;

**TCS Amsterdam Marathon**

A popular marathon amongst the WAC community – we had 4 members over in the 🇳🇱Netherlands🇳🇱 for the famous Olympic Stadium finish. First home was Kyle Brooks in a brilliant time of 2hrs 35min 52sec (CR🏅) finishing 120th overall & 77th in the Senior Male category. Next WAC home was Gareth Seville (2:59:11) for another sub-3 effort, followed by Matt Goode (3:28:56) & then Rob Stratton (PB 🎖️- 5:06:12).

A new 🚨shiny Personal best🚨 from Rob was joined by Kyle as he obtained the Senior male club record in the process. Well done all of you! 🙌🏻

Slightly closer to home and the last of our marathons;

**Abingdon Marathon**

A firm favourite of this WACer, over in Oxfordshire, Louise McDonnell took on the 26.2mile course for the third year running. Louise returned home in a time of 3hr & 7sec (CR🏅) to finish 11th female home and 3rd🥉 F45. Louise also set a new Club record 🏅over this distance at the same time – well done Louise! 🙌🏻
