This week we review two events from this weekend – starting off with the 13th instalment of the Sportlink Specialist Sports Ltd GP series for 2024;
**Dereham 5k**
Last Sunday we had 32 members venture to the mid-Norfolk market town for the two lapped course on closed roads around 🦌Dereham🦌, hosted superbly by Dereham Runners AC. The loop taking in the outskirts of the town before darting into the Market place along with the tight harpin bend (….. twice!) before finishing back on the Recreation ground opposite the Leisure Centre.First home for WAC was the flying Chris Gay in a time of 17:00 followed by Ben Beynon (17:22) & Kevin Holland (17:41) to round off our first three male runners home. Our First WAC lady home was Lacey Amber Jade in a time of 18:55, finishing off third female🏆🥉 overall and sporting a new piece of silverware for the mantelpiece – Lacey was joined by Claire Woodcroft (20:38) & Lisa Greengrass (21:27) to close out our top 3 WAC females home.
Warm and humid conditions on the day must have scuppered any PB hopes as none were registered unfortunately, however plenty of age category winners: - Chris Gay 3rd 🥉M40-44, Kevin Holland 2nd 🥈M45-49, Billy Wheeler 3rd 🥉M50-54 (17:49), Todd Lake 1st 🥇M60-64 (18:10), Lacy Bareham 3rd female 🏆🥉overall, Ian Moore 2nd 🥈M55-59 (19:36), Yitzhak Ben-aroya 1st 🥇M65-69 (20:16), Tim Seville 2nd 🥈M65-69 (20:18), Claire Woodcroft 1st M40-44, Lisa Greengrass 2nd 🥈F45-49, Claire Brown 1st 🥇F60-64 (21:33), Graham Walsh 1st 🥇M75+ (24:43) & the legend that is Eva Osborne 3rd 🥉F75+ (30:22).

Lastly from the weekend we had a soul entrant in the Scorton Feast 10k - the multi-terrain 10K around the beautiful setting of Scorton Lakes in North Yorkshire was graced by WAC royalty – David Powles! David was first WACer home in a time of 41:56 and finishing 7th overall – well done Mr Powles. 🙌🏻 #TeamWAC 💜🤍💜🤍
