W/E 13.07.2024 - Bungay 10k Race 2, Race to the Stones, Lakeland Ultra, Welly 5 miler & LDN 10k
First up on our weekly review we look back to a fortnight ago, the day of England’s Euro Semi-final victory; however our hardcore runners ventured to Bungay for the second 10k race of the series;
**Bungay 10k Summer series Race 2 **
We had 18 WAC runners skip the football to take on Race 2 hosted by Bungay Black Dog Running Club – first home for WAC was David Houghton in a time of 38:48, followed by our first female, Kate Gooding in a brilliant time of 40:58.
We had two 🚨personal best🚨 registered on the evening by Craig Skipper (PB 🎖️ – 43:12) & Gillian Snook (PB 🎖️ – 62:50) – well done you two! Congratulations also to; David Houghton 1st 🥇M50, Kate Gooding 2nd Female overall🥈🏆, Claire Brown 1st 🥇F60 (45:20) & Jen Rudd 2nd 🥈F50 (48:43).
Elsewhere over the weekend we had two trail runners – Tracy Stevens taking part in the Lakeland Trails 23k and completing the course in a time of 3:46:38 – well done Tracy! 🙌🏻 A bit further south, Josh Castlo-Hall took on the Threshold Trail Series Race to the Stones, the 100k race from Lewknor to Avebury, and finished 8th overall in a strong field. Josh completed the course in an amazing time of 8:51:29 – going sub-9 hours would normally secure a podium place, so a brilliant effort from Josh. 🙌🏻
In London, Andrew Mundy took part in the Saucony London 10k – completing the course in a time of 46:11 – Well done Andy! 🙌🏻 A bit closer to home we had two runners taking part in the Wellingborough 5 mile race, hosted by WDAC - Todd Lake was first home in a time of 30:21 finishing 1st 🥇M60 before Lacey Bareham completed in a time of 32:10 – Well done to the both of you! 🙌🏻
