W/E 12.10.24 - Felbrigg 10k, Suffolk Trail Half Marathon, Royal Parks Half Marathon, Chicago Marathon & Great Eastern Run.

For this week's review we start off-road before heading out of the area;

**Felbrigg 10k**

We had three runners make their way up to the North Norfolk National Trust location of Felbrigg hall for the annual 10k event hosted within the grounds – first back for WAC was Ben Smith in a time of 43:09, finishing 3rd overall 🏆🥉. Ben was closely followed home by Kevin Simpson (43:58) & Keith Blake (50:44); Kevin finishing 8th overall & Keith 3rd🥉 M60. Well done you three! 🙌🏻

**Ryston XC series – Race 1**

The return of the popular Ryston XC series hosted by Ryston Runners AC started with the 5k distance last Sunday – first home for WAC was Adrian Hall (20:18), followed by Martin Jones (23:40) & Eva Osborne (30:26). Great running you three! 🙌🏻

**Endurance Life Suffolk Half marathon**

The Endurancelife event hosted 4 separate distances (10k, Half marathon, marathon & Ultra) hosted within the Dunwich area taking in the trails over Natural England, the RSPB & the National Trust owned land. Our single representative was Tracie Draeger who finished in a time of 2:13:09 and achieved a 2nd🥈place F60 age category placing – Well done Tracie! 🙌🏻

Now onto the first of our three road events – we travel to the 🇬🇧capital🇬🇧;

**London Royal Parks Half Marathon**

The stunning 13.1-mile route takes in many of the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads, and four of London’s eight 🌳The Royal Parks 🌳 – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens – first WAC home was Ben Beynon (PB🎖️) flying home in a time of 77:16 for a brand new 🚨Personal best🚨 over the distance! Ben was followed home by Alexandra Ely who finished in a time of 90:31 and was 3rd🥉 F45! We had seven other runners at the event; Robbie Starling (1:42:17), Todd Baker (1:48:13), Tracy Stevens (2:03:52), Katie Whitmore (2:11:00), Louise Victoria Boyce (2:14:34) & pairing of Jo Rayner & Amanda Gray finishing in a time of 2:29:00. Well done to you all – looked like a lovely day out! 🙌🏻

A bit further afield and we travel to the 🇺🇸 US of A 🇺🇸;

**Bank of America Chicago Marathon**

The 🍕💨‘Wind city’💨🍕 marathon was completed by Lisa Rodgers in a time of 6:23:26. Lisa wasn't the only WACer over there, Trent A Terry was in 🏙Chicago🏙 but he unfortunately did not finish due to food poisoning from the day before ruining his experience. Well done Lisa and get well soon Trent! 🙌🏻 🫶🏻

Lastly more Club records fall in Peterborough;

**Great Eastern Run**

The half marathon event ran through Peterborough and hosted by Good Running Events Ltd. is noted as a ‘fast flat course on closed roads’ – first home for WAC was Todd Lake (PB🎖️CR🏅) in a time of 83:58, followed closely by Tom Waterfall (PB🎖️ – 84:55), Juliette Watkinson (85:07) & Lacey Bareham (PB🎖️CR🏅– 85:22).

Congratulations to Todd & Lacey for their new Club records over the distance, and their 🚨shiny new Personal bests🚨 were they were joined by Tom too. No age category placings within the strong field, however both Todd & Jet finished 6th in the M60-64 & F40-44 categories respectively. Well done you four! 🙌🏻
