This week we start our weekly review with the highly anticipated Wroxham 5k;
**Wroxham 5K**
Wednesday last week saw the highlight of the summer racing calendar, brilliantly hosted by our friends Norwich Road Runners – a tremendous atmosphere to this evening race which is a firm favourite amongst the WAC runners. On the evening we 76 representatives, many supporters and lots of fish🐟 & chips🍟 afterwards – first back for WAC was Aidan Banfield (PB🎖️ CR🏅) with an amazing time of 15:24 – not just setting an age category club record but obtaining the overall club record over the distance – well done Aidan. 🙌🏻
Next home was Charlie Stringer (PB🎖️ CR🏅) with a time of 16:29 with Jacob Kenworthy (PB🎖️) a second behind. The first WAC female back was the Harriet Carr, flying home in a time of 17:43, before Juliette Watkinson (18:46) and Lacey Bareham (19:10). Well done! 🙌🏻

Congratulations to our age category winners; Charlie Stringer 3rd 🥉M40-44, Billy Wheeler 2nd 🥈M50-54, Todd Lake 1st 🥇M60-64, Juliette Watkinson 1st 🥇F40-44, Kate Gooding 3rd 🥉F40-44, Yitzhak Ben-aroya 3rd 🥉M65-69 (20:48), Claire Brown 1st 🥇F60-64 (21:13), Stephen Dady 2nd 🥈M70-74 (22:49), Graham Walsh 2nd 🥈M75+ (23:45) & Eva Osborne 2nd 🥈F75+ (30:12) – additionally Dennis Carter was the inaugural winner of the Lou Miller Memorial award🏆, sponsored by Sportlink Specialist Sports Ltd, for the oldest runner in the race this year - Great stuff all! 🙌🏻
We also placed in each of the team categories: - Our senior male & female teams were 3rd overall – The male team comprising of Aidan Banfield, Jacob Kenworthy, Chris Gay (16:45) & Matt Webster (16:46). Our female representatives were Harriet Carr, Claire Kent (19:37), Eloise Peek (19:46) & Ami Russell (20:37). Our veteran males comprising of Charlie Stringer, James Fowler (16:49), Billy Wheeler & Stephen Woodcroft were 2nd overall; however our veteran female team went one better and finished first overall. The club was represented by Juliette Watkinson, Kate Gooding, Jo Delf & Claire Woodcroft – Well done you all! 🙌🏻
