W/E 04.11.23 - XC season!

First up on our review of the week, we go back to Wednesday and the start of the EACCL - East Anglian Cross Country League season:-

**Race 1 from Cart Gap** First back for WAC on the short course was Juliette Watkinson quickly followed by Alison Armstrong to finish 1st & 2nd overall. Claire Brown finished 4th overall to complete WAC’s Team A and start the season off with the best possible start. Our Team A in the longer route was David Houghton (7th overall), William Parker (14th), Adrian Hall (23rd) & Stephen Dixon (24th) to position us 3rd in the Team competition.

**Houghton Hall XC** Staying with Cross Country we travel out west for the Houghton Hall XC, hosted by West Norfolk Athletic Club Track and Field – we had 3 WAC runners competing over the testing XC course – Adrian Hall was first home in a time of 37:55 before Tony Beales (43:26) and WAC XC first timer Gillian Snook. Well done everyone and welcome Gillian!

**Chase the Train** Last up on the XC train – we head to North Norfolk for 'Chase the Train’ hosted by North Norfolk Beach Runners – the flat 8.9 mile trail run between Aylsham to Wroxham on the Bure Valley railway path had 7 WAC runners on the day – Gareth Seville was first WACer back in a time of 59:09, finishing 6th overall. Lisa Greengrass was first female WAC home in a time of 67:07, finishing 3rd female overall and 1st F40-44. #TeamWAC
