W/E 02.12.2023 - XC Season in full flow!

Cross Country central this week; something that will make our XC Captain very happy!

**EACCL Race No.3 – Caister beach**

First we head to the beach for the third race of the winter XC season hosted by Sportlink & Great Yarmouth Road Runners– no hills this week but lots of sand! The out and back beach route saw Juliette Watkinson, Alison Armstrong & Kate Gooding returned home as a WAC 1, 2 & 3 in the short route race. In the long route, Matt Webster was our first WAC home with David Houghton, Will Parker and Stephen Dixon making up our A-team quartet.

**St Edmunds Trail event**

The Positive Steps Events trail event around the National Trust site of Ickworth House saw three separate races; half marathon, marathon & 50km. We had two members in the half marathon and four braving the elements for the 50km ultra race. First back for WAC in the half marathon was Tony Beales (1:52:31) followed by Keith Blake (1:55:04) – both finished 2nd in their age categories M50-59 & M60-69 respectively.

In the Ultra event; first home was Matthew Adams (5:22:43) before Gareth Seville (5:36:32), Kate Gooding (5:36:32) & Sue Stirling (6:24:09). Amazing work by all of you and congratulations to Katie Gooding 2nd F35-44 & Sue Stirling 2nd F55-64.

**Horsford XC – Race 1**

We had three members enter the very wet and boggy race in the Horsford woods hosted superbly by Norwich Road Runners– Matthew Webster finished 1st overall, with Ali Armstrong 2nd female home and Mark Tufts finishing 3rd M55/59 – Well done!
