The last Sportlink Specialist Sports Ltd GP race of the season – the Bure Valley 10 Mile Race hosted by the Bure Valley Harriers. The scenic route starting in the North Norfolk village of Banningham takes the runners around a couple of loops of quiet countryside roads before making their way back to the finish. First back for WAC was Kevin Holland in a time 57:18; quickly followed by Chris Gay (58:00) & Matt Webster (61:10). Our first female home was Kate Gooding in a time of 69:06 followed by Claire Brown (77:23) & Hannah John (78:25). The top 3 runners from each gender made up the allotted Teams on the day; both our male & female teams won first place on the day. Well done to the runners above.
We had a spate of Personal bests on the day – Matthew Webster, Ali Shearer (62:48), Kate Gooding, Andrew Mundy (76:07), Susan Guest (88:10), Michelle Sadler (99:33), Rob Stratton (1:42:14) & Amanda Gray (1:49:22) – Great work by you all!
Our placing members on the day were – Kevin Holland 3rd overall , David Houghton 3rd M50(65:04), Stephen Dixon 2nd M60(67:49), Kate Gooding 1st F40, Claire Brown 1st F60 & Graham Walsh 2nd M70(78:47). Now the GP series has been concluded we are just waiting for the final results to be published – we are sure we will have some overall placings to announce in due course.
