Andrew Lane crosses the 500 Parkrun Landmark

Last up this week we celebrate our second member to cross the 500 Parkrun Landmark and to earn the coveted Blue Parkrun t-shirt – in August we reported Rodney Freeburn’s amazing journey to become only the 4th person aged 85+ to reach the 500 milestone; however now we honour someone who was at the original Parkrun (or Bushy Park Time Trial) back in 2004 (yellow t-shirt to prove it) and without his work as a pioneer / ambassador for the parkrun UK & junior parkrun UK phenomenon, especially in this area, it would not be what it is today. Not only did Andrew Lane tick over to the special landmark, he also has 181 volunteering credits to accompany this feat - the volunteering along with the community aspect of the event is the area Andrew advocates the most.
On the Saturday morning we had over 60 WAC runners (plus a brass band) in attendance along with many more volunteering and supporting as the Parkrun legend made his way around the Colney Lane parkrun course and across the line for the 500th time.

Well done Andrew and thank you!
